CONNECTING TO LIFE.....

Are you pursuing any of the dead-end streets that led to Solomon's emptiness? Not all of these pursuits were all bad in themselves, but Solomon took each of them to the extreme and pursued them without keeping his focus on God's purpose for his life. As a result, Solomon ended up empty on the inside.

Ask yourself:

1. What kinds of pleasures threaten to overwhelm my life if I don't keep them in check?

2. How can I use the wisdom and education God has given me to better fulfill His purposes in my life?

3. What hobbies or pasttimes do I sometimes look to for release from the pressures of life? Do any of those ever threaten God's overall purpose in my life?

"This is why I tell you: Don't worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food and the body more than clothing?" (Matthew 6:35)

Jesus encouraged His disciples in the Sermon on the Mount to focus on the things that were most important. He told them to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness. As His disciples focused on what was most important, God would take care of the other details of life.

Are you focusing on God's kingdom or your kingdom? Are you stressing over the minor things in life, or are you focusing on the main thing?

Single Adults are an important part of the First Baptist Church family. At the heart of the Single Adult Ministry is the desire to help individuals build a rewarding and strong relationship with Jesus Christ and to fine quality personal relationships within the Single Adult Ministry as well as the overall First Baptist Church family.

The foundational ministry of our Single Adult program is our Sunday morning Bible Study. Classes are designed to provide quality Bible study and warm fellowship.
