A Word From Our Worship Pastor

Worshipping the Lord is why we gather at First Baptist Church. If we truly worship, and seek God's presence in our lives, God will reveal to us His plan and will for us. Worship, however, begins individually. You must worship God as individuals before you can fully be engaged in what we call "corporate" worship on Sundays here at First Baptist Church.

Music is very vital in our worship services. We encourage everyone to get involved. We have choirs for all ages: preschool to adult. Our adult choir is called the Worship Choir and is open for anyone from age 14 and up. Our youth choir is for students in grades 6 thru 12. Our children's choir is for children in grades 1 through 5, and our preschool choir is for ages 3 through kindergarten. Seasonal and periodical musicals, dramas, and cantatas are rehearsed and presented during the course of each year by each choir.

Our instrumental music includes organ, piano, and keyboard. We are always looking to expand and include more instruments. We welcome anyone with the desire to play their instrument to the glory of the Lord to join us.

Special music is presented each Sunday by one of our choirs, individuals, or select groups (duets, trios, quartets, ensembles, etc.) . We request that those wishing to provide special music for a service be involved in the music ministry in some way. All specials are subject to the approval of the Minister of Music and auditions may be required before presenting a special during one of our services.

Usually every 5th Sunday, the evening service is dedicated to a "Hymn Sing" and special music by anyone that wishes to participate. This is a great way to "get your feet wet" if you are nervous about singing in front of people and have little experience in performing.

Opportunities abound for you to get plugged in at First Baptist Church. Music ministry is one. Everyone is invited to join a choir. We also provide many opportunities throughout the year for spiritual growth and offer many ministry opportunities. Come check us out! You'll be glad you did!

What is "Seasons of Worship"?

It's a new concept to enable more persons to be involved as worship leaders. There will be at least 4 seasons during a given year. You select the season you want to be a part of. The first 3 weeks of each season is the recruitment and enlistment period. Obviously we want you for the entire year, but you may not be able to do that, but you might be able to participate for one season or more. Our first season started August 1st. Make plans to join us next season!
