Mena, Arkansas is rich in history, with historic homes and churches as well as the restored famous Kansas City Southern Train Depot that now serves as the Mena, Arkansas Chamber of Commerce

                             Mena is known for its beautiful 4 seasons. Spring brings vibrant colors                                with Daffodils and Tulips and Bradford Pear Trees, and an emergence                                of the wide variety of wildlife. Summer is the time to enjoy one of the                              area's crystal clear lakes or streams for
                             swimming, fishing and boating. Mena is best
                             known for its scenic beauty during the fall
foliage of Autumn with visitors from many surrounding states paying
a visit to the Talimena Scenic Drive. Winters are usually mild but
the occasional snow presents a welcome winter wonderland to drape
the beautiful Ouachita Mountains.

Mena is truly a nice change from the ordinary.  So... if you are looking for a little slower pace, clean air and water, and a break from neon lights, noisy traffic? Then Mena is what you are looking for.

                          13 miles from Mena. 1.8 Million acres of the Ouachita National Forest                                surrounds Mena, for hunting, fishing, water sports, trails and more!


People from throughout America are relocating to Mena, Arkansas, due to its low cost of living, great outdoor recreation, and relaxed friendly lifestyle. Mena is located in the west central portion of Arkansas less than 20 miles east of the Arkansas/Oklahoma state line.  The city has a population of around 5,600 and is the county seat of Polk County, Arkansas.  The county population is over 20,000. Mena is located less than a 90 minute drive from fun-loving Hot Springs known for its mineral springs, and historic Fort Smith a bustling hub of commerce and home of 80,268 people.
